(PALM SPRINGS) – The four-time champion and undefeated SoCal Coyotes and General Air Conditioning & Plumbing rallied hundreds of students at the crack of dawn recently for the International Walk to School Day at Cielo Vista Charter School, which ended with a huge pep rally where players taught students the meaning of ‘respect’ in our modern culture.

The Coyote General led the march with a pack of superstar Coyotes, including cornerback ShaRon Irwin, linebacker Michael Savage, wide receiver Chad Ward, and defensive end Kwame Bell.

The players and mascot were joined by coaches and staff, who assisted event coordinator Heather Stanley with the 200-plus students on the walk from Demuth Park in Palm Springs to Cielo Vista.

International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event.

Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.

GENERAL AIR CONDITIONING AND PLUMBING gave away more than $4,000 in prizes and gift cards during the last Coyote home game. Fans will have their next opportunity on Sunday, October 16, when the Coyotes face the Inglewood Blackhawks at 3 p.m. at Indio’s Ed White Stadium.

CONVEYOR BELT OF CHARACTER – The four-time champion SoCal Coyotes non-profit sports leadership organization is a conveyor belt of character, competence, and connection, delivering life-changing leadership skills to more than 30,000 Coachella Valley youth each year through an array of programs, camps, clinics and expos.

SEVENTY PLAYERS EACH YEAR earn the distinction of ‘Defending the Shield’ in the uniform of the SoCal Coyotes. Many will earn a shot with NFL, CFL or AFL opportunities, or graduate into business careers.

FAITH, FAMILY, FOOTBALL is the real mission of the Coyotes – and not surprisingly, something that dates back to the great Vince Lombardi in 1959. More than game tape. More than a weight room. More than a 40 time. The Coyote mission reaches far beyond the actual gridiron, deep into the development of young athletes as fathers, husbands, and men.

DISCOVER how The Pro Football Educator, operated by former Denver Broncos GM and two-time Super Bowl winner Ted Sundquist, selected the SoCal Coyotes as America’s #1 Developmental Pro Football Program.
