‘What is your legacy?’ Two-Time Champs Lead Mountain Vista Elementary

(INDIO) — Do you study as much as you watch television? Do you spend as much time in face-to-face conversations as you do social media? Do you volunteer to take out the trash, make your bed or load the dishwasher?

The two-time champion SoCal Coyotes want to know.

The AAA football champions held a leadership workshop Wednesday at Indio’s Mountain Vista Elementary School, teaching hundreds of fifth- and sixth-graders that “your next move is your best move.”

Students took the “Coyote Leadership Quiz,” and scores of 175 or above were worth playoff tickets for an entire family of four. Pictured here signing autographs are quarterback Michael Karls and AAA Hall of Fame center Brian “Porkchop” Gollnick, 2013 Defensive Player of the Year Cedric Cox and defensive back John Paiz.

The SoCal Coyotes are a non-profit sports leadership organization that also fields a professional developmental football team. As a football team, the Coyotes develop AAA minor-league players for the Arena, Canadian and National Football Leagues, including local talent, and play in the nation’s top-ranked LaBelle Community Football League.

As a charitable organization, the Coyotes are frequent contributors, associates and volunteers to organizations such as Boys & Girls Club, YMCA and dozens of area public schools, administering curriculum and donating financial support.

The Coyotes are currently 5-1 in the LCFL, and play this Saturday in Las Vegas. A win will give the team home-field advantage in the playoffs.
