(PALM SPRINGS) – In an inspiring move to support and uplift at-risk youth, the SoCal Coyotes recently completed the first year of their unique partnership with Father’s Heart Ranch, where the non-profit organization instilled its’ Above the Line™ behavioral management and leadership program with the young residents of the Ranch, who learned essential life skills.

Father’s Heart Ranch, which provides a safe and supportive environment for boys who have experienced significant hardships (including neglect, abuse, and abandonment), partnered with the Coyotes to provide transformative impact in the lives of its residents through mentoring, workshops and interactive sessions.

Taught across a six-month period from November 2023 through March, the Coyotes’ Above the Line™ program equipped their young charges with the skills and mindset needed to overcome past challenges and build successful futures.

Empowering Through Partnership

The SoCal Coyotes are well-known for their commitment to community service and youth development, using youth sports and mentoring as tools to foster leadership, character, and positive behavior.

Their Above the Line™ behavioral management program is the crown jewel of the organization, with a curriculum that instills discipline, accountability, and leadership in participants. By emphasizing principles such as integrity, respect, and resilience, the program prepares youth for successful futures.

Father’s Heart Ranch, located in Desert Hot Springs, California, is dedicated to helping their young individuals heal and grow, offering them the stability and support they need to build a promising future.

A Fresh Approach to Leadership

The Above the Line™ program was seamlessly integrated into the daily activities at Father’s Heart Ranch, delivering a transformative impact on the lives of its residents. The program focused on critical areas such as:

  1. Behavioral Management: Teaching the boys to manage their emotions, make thoughtful decisions, and develop self-discipline.
  2. Leadership Development: Encouraging leadership qualities by fostering confidence, responsibility, and a sense of purpose.
  3. Teamwork and Collaboration: Highlighting the importance of working together, respecting others, and valuing community.
  4. Personal Growth: Providing tools and strategies for setting and achieving personal goals.

Voices from the Community

Christina Torres, Executive Director of Father’s Heart Ranch, said the SoCal Coyotes’ Above the Line™ program complements “our mission to support and guide these young men toward a brighter future,” noting the partnership helped equip participants with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

“Sharing our Above the Line™ program with Father’s Heart Ranch allows us to make a lasting difference in the lives of these young boys,” said J David Miller, Coyotes’ CEO and non-profit founder. “We believe in their potential and are dedicated to helping them achieve it.

“Our goal is always been to extend our reach and make a meaningful impact in the community, especially for those who need it most,” Miller added. “This partnership exemplifies the power of collective effort, and shared values in driving positive change.”
