Coyote Spotlight PACK ATTACKS COYOTES LEAD COMMUNITY HELPERS AT MECCA ELEMENTARY Posted on September 29, 2016 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr (MECCA) – Second-graders at Mecca Elementary got a giant surprise – literally – Friday when teacher Maribel Solis delivered dynamic SoCal Coyotes All-American linebacker Michael Savage of West Virginia Wesleyan University to teach them first-hand how to make an impact in their community. Savage was joined by Cinthia Paiz, director of operations for the four-time champions, who were back at Mecca for their second year. Savage, a Coyote team captain, has been a dominating force in helping the undefeated Coyotes (4-0) rocket to the top of the Southern California Football League. In addition to directing Coyote operations, Ms. Paiz is also a tireless community servant, and has integrated Coyote programs with area schools since 2013. The Coyotes are back in action Saturday, October 1, at Indio’s Ed White Stadium, against the undefeated Vegas Trojans. Kickoff is 7:30. CONVEYOR BELT OF CHARACTER – The four-time champion SoCal Coyotes non-profit sports leadership organization is a conveyor belt of character, competence, and connection, delivering life-changing leadership skills to more than 30,000 Coachella Valley youth each year through an array of programs, camps, clinics and expos. SEVENTY PLAYERS EACH YEAR earn the distinction of ‘Defending the Shield’ in the uniform of the SoCal Coyotes. Many will earn a shot with NFL, CFL or AFL opportunities, or graduate into business careers. FAITH, FAMILY, FOOTBALL is the real mission of the Coyotes – and not surprisingly, something that dates back to the great Vince Lombardi in 1959. More than game tape. More than a weight room. More than a 40 time. The Coyote mission reaches far beyond the actual gridiron, deep into the development of young athletes as fathers, husbands, and men.
