Uncategorized Coyotes Announce Xavier as New Home Posted on May 21, 2013 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr (PALM DESERT) — It’s official: The SoCal Coyotes, and their lights-out, high-scoring Run ‘n’ Shoot attack, are now at a stadium near you. The SoCal Coyotes formally announced today they had reached a landmark agreement with pristine Xavier College Preparatory as their new fall home for games, practices, the June 30 EuroStop Pro Combine, and the January 11 AAA Hall of Fame Game. Coyote team officials have scheduled an 11 a.m. announcement at the school. The team will have access to the school’s state-of-the-art locker rooms and training facilities for practices and games, as well as the field house, which is large enough to play an indoor arena football game. The Coyotes – the pride of the desert — are 19-4 over two seasons, winning more games in 11 months than any valley team at any level in history. This fall, they open play in the UFAL Eastern Division of the prestigious Southern California Football Alliance. The young Coyotes will now bring their no-huddle, high-scoring attack — which has scored 60, 50, 40 (six times) and 30 (four times) — right to the backyards of their fans throughout the Coachella Valley. Month-long meetings between the school and the Coyotes culminated Monday when Xavier Athletic Director Mark Campbell and team president J. David Miller signed off on the final details. Terms were not disclosed, but both described it as a “win-win” for all involved. “We are excited,” said Mr. Campbell. On June 30, the Coyotes will host the EUROStopwatch Pro Combine at the sparkling Xavier field house. The combine (www.eurostopwatch.com) will attract players from across Southern California, and pro coaches and scouts from around the world. The team will begin practice at their new home in late July. The Coyotes open August 24 at home against the San Diego Spartans. In January, the Coyotes are the host team in the AAA Hall of Fame Game, and will play a team of All-Stars from across the nation. “Xavier is a college-like campus atmosphere, with all of the amenities you would expect from an elite school of their standards,” said Coach Miller. “We are thankful to Xavier, Mr. Campbell, and all of their trustees, for their belief and support of the Coyote program. We will build on this relationship of trust and continue to exceed their expectations. “The Coyote organization is respectful that our desert community realizes our vision in changing the culture of AAA football,” Miller added. “We will put a pro product on the field that is now as good as the field itself. We have fought the good fight, and we will finish the race.” After weathering two seasons of home games in three different locations, and practicing in public parks, the team has graduated to a first-class venue that truly offers the comforts of home. The Xavier facility offers stadium bleacher seating and is installing a plush sod field for the fall season. Xavier will play home games on Friday; the Coyotes, on Saturday nights. Xavier’s home-field advantage includes NFL goalposts that will be an easy target for new long-ball Coyote kicker Dan Kelly. Superstar AAA quarterback Nate Lewis and his fleet of blazing receivers will be the fastest show on turf. Coyote players will be taped and spatted in their own locker room prior to practice and have an option to move indoors in bad weather. Xavier is located on Cook street, a mile from the I-10 exit. The stadium lights are visible from the freeway and make it easy for visitors and fans coming from any direction. It is a convenient 10-minute drive from anywhere in the Coachella Valley. Xavier College Preparatory is the first and only Catholic high school east of the Riverside/San Bernardino corridor and west of the Arizona border. It is also the first lay-built, Jesuit-endorsed high school of its kind and is associated with the six other Jesuit high schools in the state of California.
