SoCal Coyote News Chevrolet Cadillac La Quinta: Stop the Coyotes Run ‘n’ Shoot, and We Buy Your Car Posted on January 3, 2014 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr (CATHEDRAL CITY) — If the record-setting UFAL Champion SoCal Coyotes don’t score against the National All-Stars in the AAA Hall of Fame Bowl January 11 at College of the Desert, you might be driving a luxurious, brand-new Chevrolet or Cadillac — free of charge. At least that’s what Anthony Caridi, general manager of the prestigious Chevrolet-Cadillac La Quinta is set to announce during a history-making Coachella Valley press conference this weekend at the Desert Princess Golf & Country Club, where a brand new CTS Cadillac – 2014 Motor Trend’s Car of the Year – will be rolled into the lobby in time for Saturday’s press conference. Chevrolet-Cadillac La Quinta is the ‘Official Auto Dealer’ of the AAA Hall of Fame Bowl, and Coachella Valley football fans are in the driver’s seat. Fans who simply drop by the dealership get free game tickets and a free oil change. Test drive any vehicle, and you get a free game ball autographed by SoCal Coyotes record-setting quarterback Nate Lewis, receiver Rashad “The Franchise” Roberts, or legendary Class of 2014 inductee Brian “Porkchop” Gollnick. Chevrolet-Cadillac La Quinta will pick up the tab for every fan who buys a car between now and the January 11 bowl game if the Coyotes fail to score. The swashbuckling Caridi made the bet only weeks after a car dealership in suburban Seattle was forced to eat $420,000 in giveaways when the Seattle Seahawks shut out the New York Giants. Jim Johnson, owner of Jet Chevrolet in Federal Pass, Washington, warns Caridi he might be crazy. “Trust me, we never expected that we’d actually be giving away cars or money,” he told ESPN and the NFL Network, after Giants quarterback Eli Manning obliged by throwing five interceptions in a 23-0 loss. Caridi’s pride and faith in the two-time champion Coyotes, however, is unwavering. “You can’t outwit fate by standing on the sidelines,” said Caridi. “Either you wade in and risk everything you have to play the game or you don’t play at all. And if you don’t play you can’t win. Chevrolet Cadillac La Quinta and the Coyotes Run ‘n’ Shoot are synonymous with high expectations, high performance, and high results.” For the Coyotes, it’s put up or shut up. For starters, Darrel “Mouse” Davis, godfather of the team’s Run ‘n’ Shoot and the modern pro offense, is the keynote speaker at the AAA Hall of Fame Induction Awards Dinner on January 10, the night before the game. He will join the Coyotes coaching staff on their sidelines the next day, in what may be his last game as a coach. The UFAL champions scored 434 points in the Southern California Football Alliance in 2013. According to the SoCal Coyotes Wikipedia page, Lewis holds all Coyote marks and most AAA records for yards, completions, average yards per completion (15.9), average yards per game (357.7), and touchdowns. Lewis has now thrown for 8,586 yards and 88 touchdowns in 24 complete games as a Coyote. Lewis averages a touchdown every 10 attempts. Roberts, now in his third season, holds every club receiving record, most notably 55 career touchdowns. In 11 games in the 2013 fall season, he had 66 catches for 1,335 yards and 11 touchdowns, for a 20.23-yards-per-catch average. Over his Coyote career, ‘The Franchise’ averages a touchdown every third reception. Caridi will appear at a news conference Saturday, along with Lewis , Roberts, Gollnick and other Coyotes and AAA Football Hall of Fame officials. The week-long AAA Hall of Fame Bowl festivities officially kickoff Sunday at the Desert Princess Golf and Country Club, the official headquarters of the AAA Hall of Fame. Guests will stay at the neighboring luxurious Desert Princess Resort. The star-studded Class of 2013 Induction Awards Ceremony is Friday, January 10, at the Desert Princess Golf & Country Club. The weekend culminates on Saturday, January 11, with the AAA Hall of Fame Bowl at College of the Desert at 7 p.m. To purchase seats at the Awards Dinner, reserve game tickets, or for information, call Dori Petee at 760.322.1655 at the Desert Princess Golf & Country Club from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., PST.
